This weekend, after the international break, the Premier League returns with a bang! It feels like a fresh start for some clubs and a crucial test of character for others. It’s certainly a fresh start for Ange, the new Nottingham coach. A chance for redemption for the former Tottenham coach.
We’ve got a full slate of fixtures with some mouth-watering matchups.
The big story coming into Week 4 is the unexpected table. Liverpool are flying high with a perfect record, while Manchester City, the defending champions, are uncharacteristically struggling with two losses. The pressure is on Pep Guardiola’s side, and they have the biggest test of all: the Manchester Derby. This isn’t just a game; it’s a statement.
Meanwhile, the North London Derby between Arsenal and Tottenham will be a clash of two teams with title ambitions, both desperate to prove they’re a force to be reckoned with. At the bottom, newly promoted sides are fighting for their first points, and clubs like Aston Villa and Wolves are desperate to kickstart their seasons.
The international break has given teams a chance to reset, but it also brings the risk of injuries and fatigue. This weekend will reveal who handled the break better and which teams are ready to step up and seize the moment.
Here are my predictions for Week 4 of the 2025/2026 Premier League season:
Saturday, September 13, 2025
- Arsenal vs Nottingham Forest: Arsenal has been in good form and will be looking to get back to winning ways after their loss to Liverpool. They have a solid squad, and at home, they should be too much for Forest, who, while resilient, may struggle to contain Arsenal’s attack.
- Prediction: Arsenal 3-0 Nottingham Forest (Over 2.5 is a good bet).
- AFC Bournemouth vs Brighton & Hove Albion: This is a tricky one. Bournemouth has started well, while Brighton has been inconsistent. It’s a south coast derby, which always adds an extra layer of intensity. I’ll give the slight edge to the home side.
- Prediction: AFC Bournemouth 2-1 Brighton & Hove Albion (Home double chance is a good bet)
- Crystal Palace vs Sunderland: Crystal Palace has been a surprise package so far and is still undefeated. Sunderland, a newly promoted team, will find it tough at Selhurst Park. Palace’s momentum and quality should be enough to secure the win.
- Prediction: Crystal Palace 2-0 Sunderland
- Everton vs Aston Villa: Everton has shown some promising signs and will be confident at home. Aston Villa, on the other hand, is still searching for their first win and will be without key midfielders due to injury.
- Prediction: Everton 1-0 Aston Villa
- Fulham vs Leeds United: A battle between two teams in the relegation zone, both needing a result. Fulham has been drawing games, while Leeds is struggling for goals. This will likely be a nervy, low-scoring affair.
- Prediction: Fulham 1-1 Leeds United (A home win)
- Newcastle United vs Wolverhampton Wanderers: Both teams are in a similar boat, looking for their first win of the season. Wolves are at the bottom of the table and have lost all three of their games. Newcastle, playing at home, will be highly motivated to turn their season around.
- Prediction: Newcastle United 2-1 Wolverhampton Wanderers (I’m certainly going for a home win here)
- West Ham United vs Tottenham Hotspur: The London derby is always a firecracker. West Ham has been conceding goals, while Tottenham’s attack has been impressive, even with some injuries. I expect Spurs to outscore West Ham in what could be a high-scoring game.
- Prediction: West Ham United 1-3 Tottenham Hotspur (Over 2.5 goals)
- Brentford vs Chelsea: Chelsea has started the season well and has a solid squad. Brentford is a well-drilled side that can be a tough nut to crack at home. This will be a tactical battle, but Chelsea’s individual quality should shine through.
- Prediction: Brentford 1-2 Chelsea (Chelsea can go with all three points if things work out)
Sunday, September 14, 2025
- Burnley vs Liverpool: Liverpool is currently perfect with 9 points. They are in phenomenal form and are looking like the team to beat. Burnley, a newly promoted side, will be under immense pressure, and it’s hard to see them getting a result at home against this Liverpool side.
- Prediction: Burnley 0-4 Liverpool (I can only see a dominating win for the men in red)
- Manchester City vs Manchester United: This is a must-win game for Manchester City. They have had a shocking start with two losses, and a derby defeat would put them in a difficult position. United, while inconsistent, will be looking to capitalize on City’s vulnerability. However, I believe City’s quality and desperation will be too much for them.
- Prediction: Manchester City 3-1 Manchester United (Two inconsistent neighbours)
This is how our EPL prediction for week two fared; do well to check it out.
